Don't give up the fight
Breathe a starry night
There's a god who
Makes the stars shine bright
Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For in just a little while, "He, who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith." -Heb. 10:26-38, ref. to Hab 2:3-4
Brothers and sisters in Christ- understand this. We are no longer of this world. The Bible says this much in tons of passages. In fact, this was one of Paul's biggest points. The world is gonna stink for us a lot of the time. It isn't because the Lord made it that way, but by the sins of our forefathers and those around us. They've spoiled a good creation through denying our Lord and choosing to follow the devil instead.
Many of these people don't even realize they are following Satan. They think they are following "rationalism," "common sense," "science," or "society." However, even though God is absolutely in these things, they are worshipping these things over God. This is a problem. And if anything is put above God, it isn't placed there by Him, but rather the devil. Furthermore, these people will try to pull you away from God, even though they won't necessarily have that intention in mind.
Stand strong. Remember that you have made a choice to live for God. You are LIVING for God; you're life has been given to Him. These others who aren't saved- try to reach them. Try to be a messenger of the message of salvation, just as someone was for you once. Accept being persecuted. If someone insults you, take joy in it, because you are taking a hit for God! Be an example of the ultimate loyal servant.
Our rewards are not full in this world, but rather paid on death. God is keeping track of what we do for Him.
Finally, I close with this: the next time someone makes fun of you for your belief in God... opposes your choice of placing faith in God above all else... threatens you... stand up for God... and God will be smiling down at you with the biggest grin you can fathom. He'll love what you're doing and that is all that matters.
